We learn about the background of Stoddard and how much has changed since his days of joining the Border Patrol. We learn a little of the process of joining to be a Bortac Agent and what it takes. Andy makes an error drawing a comparison between Borstar and Bortac which draws a good laugh from Art. It taps into a rivalry between the two. Why didn’t Art try out for Bortac?

An Illegal Alien was captured trying to cross into the United States with a group of others. It was determined after testing this Indian National was positive for Covid19. Art highlights another reason why the mission along the border is important to the health and security of the residents of the United States. This attempting to cross into the United States which may be ill is concerning to how it affects agents that must do the work in the arrest of this subject. For this Week’s The Green Line Radio Show, It is a trying time for Agents as the Agency deals with problems along the border and the effects of Covid19 on operations.
Art attends a Muster and wanted to speak to a watch commander after the muster only to be told to wait. The conversation between that watch commander and supervisors is pointed towards and belittling of agents and after about a thirty minute wait he told Art he had no time to talk with him. That didn’t sit well with Art. The situation reeks of this Watch Commander being a bully. Should this type of attitude from the Watch Commander be allowed? How could this in any way help the morale of the Agents?
Art reminds us of his availability to Agents with concerns in operations of their duties. The situation at Musters doesn’t provide the best practices for Social Distancing and Art offers some suggestions and solutions for the safety of the Agents and their families. Art and Andy talk about the current situation along the Southern Border and highlight numbers can’t always represent due to Getaways.
Art shares a story about Border Patrol being requested by the Marcela Taracena of the ACLU not to be in public spaces such as hospitals or Covid19 Testing Facilities out of fear of possible illegal aliens by passing health services. Tucson Sector U.S. Border Patrol Chief Roy Villareal answers the article perfectly. Art also shares info on a facility that was built by CPB in Tornillo Texas. Could that Money have been better spent towards training and supplying for the needs of Agents?

EPISODE 303 : Boiling The Broccoli
In The Green Line Radio Show for this week, Art Del Cueto and Andy talk about how Allergy season is in high gear and how a cough will force those around to run. The CDC and Surgeon General are recommending the use of face mask for traveling outdoors and visiting grocery stores. Art talks about de-stressing and how after time in the NBPC Offices and in the field how he jumped back into music watching music on YouTube and playing on the bass guitar. Art shares some of the reasons he has been stressed and has to share some of the issues he has with the Chief of The Tucson Sector.
Art tells us about the current situation regarding Covid-19 and how the Sector is responding for Agents in the field and to protect them from exposure. There is concern that not enough is being done to keep the agents safe.
Art reminds Agents to maintain and clean the equipment before heading to the field such as Night Vision Goggles. The current status for many attempting to cross between the ports has continued however knowing now that they are returned to Mexico in most cases; they attempt to run when discovered. Art tells us the increase in assault on Agents in Big Bend Sector has topped around 480%. With Assaults on Agents have risen, why aren’t the prosecutions happening?

Martha McSally and Sen. Krysten Sinema for reaching out to check on the Men and Woman working the Southern Border in Arizona. Art shares some of the concern for Agents by the NBPC on how they should be equipped with N95 Mask when dealing with those coming through checkpoints. Some in Border Patrol Management have voiced opposition to this need for Agent safety.
Art and Andy talk about the hording of goods and food and Art tells about the joys of eating Sardines growing up. Agents along the borders have been intercepting contraband including Fake Covid-19 Test Kits. EPISODE 299 : Putting The Foot Down
Art Del Cueto has returned from a trip to Washington D.C. In this Episode of The GreenLine Radio Show, Art announces the Winner from Last Week’s Trivia and shares the answer with us. Art talks about the event he attended in the Nation’s Capital as a guest of Congressman Andy Biggs and how Rep. Biggs has been a champion for the Agents of the Border Patrol. Art and Andy talk about Covid-19, The Corona Virus. In the Fluidity of events surrounding Covid-19, some events mentioned in the show were changed or cancelled after recording. The guys wonder about the run on items such as Toilet Paper and Sanitary supplies.
Art talks about the Remain in Mexico policy which was upheld to have those seeking asylum crossing on the US/Mexico border remain in Mexico while awaiting a hearing on a Asylum Claim. The numbers to support this regulation are shared and very obvious on how this can alleviate the burden on Agents and the system in general. Art commends acting Commissioner Mark Morgan of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to move forward the need for Remain in Mexico policy.
Contraband and Illegal Drugs are continuing to make the way across the border and Andy shares a story on the dangers to Agents and Law Enforcement to process drugs such as Fentanyl. Art tells us about an Illegal alien which was traveling on a greyhound bus. Recent policy changes from the company are denying access to agents at Depots and on buses without a warrant for immigration checks. The buses are still under the scrutiny of Agents however at checkpoints and this individual was questioned and detained. We learn the story of what he told agents and why the situation for him was made even worse by his own statements.
