In this Week’s The Green Line Radio Show, Brandon Judd President of the National Border Patrol Council sits down with Art Del Cueto about the situation along the Border. Art asks Brandon about the biggest differences between the Former Trump Administration and Biden Administration. Most of the change seen regarding illegal immigration is Catch and Release and how the resumption of that practice has increased the flow of Illegal Entry to the United States after 45 years lows.
With the new approach to immigration, when those captured or voluntary turn themselves in, when they are released, they are given a legal status to be in the United States with a Notice to Appear. This is known as a NTA, this allows them to get a driver’s license and other documents.
Vice President Harris has made the announcement, after Former President Trump announces he will tour the Southern Border with Texas Governor Greg Abbott, that she will indeed visit the Southern Border in El Paso. One of The Concerns is the elimination of Title 42 which will open the flood gates even more seeking residence in the United States. Art and Brandon discuss about how Governor Abbot has worked for his state to provide a solution to help stem the tide of illegal immigration. Brandon talks about what he would do if he were made governor. We also learn how the administration changed how agents respond in the media. Being vocal is important to Brandon and this is discussed.
We learn a little more about Brandon, since he joined the Agency, how has time in the agency shaped his career. We talk about some former chiefs and supervisors that did not make needed changes to benefit agents when they served but now seem to have found a voice. Brandon shares how he believes the illegal immigration problem can be fixed, but would the administration even fathom the idea.
