For This Week’s, the Green Line Radio Show Art Del Cuerto tells us about attending a gathering with Members of the National Border Patrol Council in San Diego for National Training. In the events of the week, OWCP training was a part of this gathering which stands for Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs. Gabriel Class is the new head for the OWCP Program for Agents within the Agency. Art tells us of the steps involved in the case of an Injury to an Agent. The first step is to contact the Union representative.
Art sends a shout out to a couple of representatives he was able to reconnect with including Brandon Budlong and Shawn Walsh from the Northern Border and Art is hoping to have them on the show soon to share some of the issues they are facing along the Northern Border. We get a chance to learn about Art and some of the trials and tribulations he went through this past week. His mother-in-law was taking care of the house while he was attending the sessions in San Diego just when a Gas Leak happened at his home. We learn of the Gas Company not only dealing with this but Art’s buddy Galileo taking care of getting his dogs together so the work can be done. This opened a whole new set of issues.
Art shares info on a new detail opening in the Tucson Sector to handle 911 Calls for those attempting to cross that get into an emergency. The Horrors of the Southern Desert during the Summer Months sadly often lead to death for those that get lost or left behind. The New Numbers are an Estimated 233k gotaways with 83k are out of Tucson sector alone. Art explains how he feels this growing problem can be turned around and fixed.
